I often hear people talk about life as if it were a dream. They say, "I don't know when time flies; it was all like a dream." So I wonder, what if we are indeed in a dream? In a dream so real that we forget to wake ourselves up, just like how it happens in a lucid dream that we know occurs during the night.
We could be living in a dream, and this dream could lead us in many directions without us ever realizing that we have the power within us to steer it to achieve whatever our hearts desire.
How do you wake from such a dream?
First comes the sensation that you are in a dream. Thinking that there is a small possibility that you could be experiencing a dream might be the first step. Otherwise, it could be just the feeling that something is wrong. The awareness that things are not how they're supposed to be, how they should be, how you wish for them to be—even if in that moment if someone were to ask you "how should they be?" you wouldn't know the answer. You just feel the wrongness, even if the words elude you.
The awareness from the mind or the heart is the first signal.
Then, somehow you start to search unconsciously for the answer, the solution for something you cannot put into words. You start searching for something you feel is missing, but your mind is a blank canvas that creates a sharp contrast with the shiny colors that you feel in your heart.
And the experiences that you unconsciously attract can impact you so deeply that you begin to question the nature of your own reality.
This is the second step: questioning what you are experiencing. Realizing that maybe some things you believe as true are false, and the things you don't believe in could actually be true.
Depending on how powerful this realization is, your entire life could shift in the blink of an eye.
The third step is hitting the pause button and anchoring yourself in the present moment. This can be your life vest, the way you survive in that crucial moment. And this life vest is nearer to you than you know.
Just like the message from the back of a plane chair: "Life vest is under your seat.”
In the fourth step you realize that some things cannot be undone. You come back from this out-of-ordinary experience to your usual reality and start giving different meanings to what you just went through. But know this: time will pass, and even if you think you've become your usual self again, that is another illusion. Because once something enters your life, enters your awareness, you simply cannot become blind to it ever again.
In the last step, five, you start working on yourself, following that memory like a beacon in the night. Now you start seeing your reality from another perspective and work continuously and relentlessly to shape this reality to reflect the one you're beginning to discover more and more in your heart. This is a step that shapes itself into a full path on which you commit to walk unwavering, following the true light that you found in your heart.
Key Insights
The journey of awakening within our own reality mirrors the stages of consciousness we experience in dreams. Much like a traveler discovering new territories, we navigate through five distinct phases:
Awareness arrives first - that subtle whisper telling us something feels different, even if we can't quite name it. It's the gentle nudge that starts our journey, like ripples disturbing still water.
Questioning follows naturally - when we dare to challenge our established beliefs and open ourselves to new possibilities. This phase requires courage, as it often means letting go of comfortable certainties.
The present moment becomes our anchor - teaching us that amid life's greatest shifts, our strongest foundation is the here and now. Like the life vest under our seat, this truth has always been within reach.
Transformation proves irreversible - once we glimpse a deeper truth, we can't return to our former state of unknowing. Each revelation becomes a permanent part of our evolving consciousness.
Finally, the path reveals itself - not as a destination, but as an ongoing journey of aligning our outer reality with our inner truth. This isn't just about waking up from the dream; it's about consciously participating in shaping it.
Remember: The power to direct your dream-like reality has always resided within you. The question isn't whether you're dreaming, but rather, what dream you choose to create and live.
